Should You Buy The Mountain Buggy Duo?

If you're looking for a double pushchair you can take off road, through the woods, up hills and pretty much anywhere the Mountain Buggy Duo is the pushchair for you.

It copes with any surface and gives a really comfortable ride to your children.

Dads' Review

First impressions upon seeing the mountain buggy duo are that it's a mountain bike in disguise! Those chunky 12 inch wheels and rear wheel suspension mean you can take it pretty much anywhere.

It's got lockable front wheels, foot operated brakes and a soft padded handlebar that can have the height adjusted upto 111cm. The two seats are independently adjustable each with their own hood and padded straps.

Use With Carrycots or Carseats

The Duo is very versatile. You can add two carrycots, or a twin carrycot, or mix and match as you desire.

You can also use it as a travel system if you buy the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix or Pebble car-seat and the adaptors.

You Will Like The Easy Fold

You will find folding the Mountain Buggy nice and easy. It's got a great 2-step fold mechanism that just makes sense, no foibles or knacks required. It is free-standing when folded which makes storage nice and convenient when at home or out and about.

Not The Most Compact

Having said that, the fold isn't that compact. It's also pretty heavy, due to it's sturdy / bomb-proof construction, so lifting it in and out of the car is a good workout! On the plus side, the quick release back wheels come off with no fuss and make it easier to fit in most boots.

Slimline For A Double

Most doubles tend to be around 76cm wide. The Duo is a smidgeon slimmer at 73cm, which combined with it's great handling mean it's no effort to get through standard doorways.

Great Handling

Manouevring through crowded streets is also surprisingly easy, again due to the great handling. The handlebar design means you can move your hands around to maximize leverage, a little bit of basic Physics saves you exerting yourself.

Plenty Of Accessories

There are a raft of accessories available for the Duo, including a footmuff, stormcover, carrybag in addition to the carrycots and adaptable car-seats

In Summary

It's not the cheapest double, but if you want a go-anywhere double pushchair that looks good and is versatile, the Duo is probably the best on the market.
